You made it.

Hey.

  • This is very fun for me because I used to do some of my own HTML and CSS for layouts in Myspace (2006-2009), Gaia Online (2007-2009), Neopets (2008-2009), and tumblr (2009-2015). I also took a "web design" class, using Dreamweaver, when I was in high school.
  • In college, I studied something technical and something in the humanities. Took a single computer science class (Java), didn't like it, threw out the idea of coding despite website stuff being a hobby since middle school.
  • Jump to 2022-2023. The best parts of my workday doing technical implementation at a software company were when I was tinkering with the internal user-facing code.
  • I leaned into it.
  • I befriended the junior developer. He asked me to read a LISP textbook with him. We did for a few weeks and then it got too hard for me to keep up.
  • That was a year ago. Now it's 2024 and the same friend asked if I'd make a forum with him. I'm 30 and I work in product. And I want to learn things again. That's why I'm here right now.
